nd The Brian Friel Theatre is delighted to announce its closing show for this year’s season will be Gut Girls by Sarah Daniels.

This years professionally directed showcase production for Second Year Single Honours Drama Students will be directed by one of Belfast’s leading theatre directors, the award winning Rachel O’Riordan, Artistic Director of Ransom Productions. She has chosen Gut Girls because of its rich array of rewarding roles and plans to present it “promenade style”, transforming the Brian Friel Theatre into the Victorian Slaughterhouse where the play is set. The gut girls are bras, foul-mouthed but full of pride as working girls. When Lady Helena, an erudite widow from the upper class, makes it her mission to tame these girls and find them more ladylike the well-meaning dowager is as welcome as a temperance speaker at the local pub.

Gut Girls runs from 7.30pm Wednesday 28th April – Saturday 1st May 2010. Tickets are £6 & £8 and are available now by calling the Brian Friel Box Office on 028 90 97 13 82 or by e-mailing studentshows@qub.ac.uk.
