The Donahue Sisters invites its audience to step into the lives of three sisters who have harboured a secret since childhood and have spent what feels like an eternity haunted, not by guilt but by the curse of their cruelty.
Exploring the issues of the rural Irish family, what truly defines success and other pressing issues such as psychological, physical and sexual abuse, The Donahue Sisters presents the audience with a challenging, emotive piece of theatre. While all the while begging the question, is it better to forget times gone by or live with the “uneasy prospect of past events repeating themselves?”
Set outside the confines of the theatre, this site specific piece welcomes the audience into the Donahue family home to embark on a journey with the sisters as they come together one more time and re-enact what has now become a sacred ritual.
The question is, do you want to be part of it?
